In simplified form, here’s what happened in the second round of the big city tournament Wednesday:

Here are the quarterfinal matchups (with seeds):

(1) Foreman vs. (9) Robeson

(4) Bogan vs. (5) Marshall

(3) Hyde Park vs. (11) North Lawndale

(7) Simeon vs. (15) Morgan Park

The big upset was Wayne Blackshear-led Morgan Park’s 19-point win over Young, the top-ranked team by the Sun-Times.

I’ve looked around, but I can’t find out when the quarterfinals are played. I assume they will be played next week. FYI: The boys Class 3A and 4A pairings will be released Friday.
