A man was injured Saturday night in a drive-by shooting in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.

The 23-year-old man was walking in the 8000 block of South Vernon about 9:15 p.m. when a vehicle pulled up and someone inside fired shots, said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.

He was taken by a friend to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, where his condition had stabilized, Greer said.
