(COUNTRY CLUB HILLS) An 18-year-old man died Friday night after he was shot in south suburban Country Club Hills.

Police responding to a call of shots fired about 7:30 p.m. in the 4500 block of Provincetown Drive met a resident who informed them that there was a person down in the snow in the 4400 block of 186th Street, according to a statement from County Club Hills police.

Officers searching the area found Justin Haney lying face down in the snow, authorities said.

Haney, of the 4500 block of West 185th Place in Country Club Hills, had been shot in the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:30 p.m., the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy performed Saturday showed Haney died from the gunshot wound, and his death has been ruled a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.
