Rep. Robin Kelly joins House Foreign Affairs Committee

WASHINGTON — Rep. Robin Kelly, D-Ill., starting her second term, is joining the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Kelly is also the new Congressional Black Caucus “health brain trust” chair.

Her spokesman, Kayce Ataiyero, said she is joining the panel “Because Chicago is a world-class city with global appeal, the Foreign Affairs Committee gives her the opportunity to engage on issues that matter to many in our area, including international economic policy, trade and global health, the latter of which dovetails with her role as the CBC’s new health brain trust chair. Also, given the turbulent times, it gives her the opportunity to help shape policies on global security threats, terrorism and human rights, which are interests of hers as well.”
