A woman died after she was hit by a vehicle Friday morning in the Avondale neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The 58-year-old woman was struck by the vehicle about 6:25 a.m. in the 3600 block of West Addison, police said,

She was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed the death but could not provide further details Friday morning.

The vehicle remained at the scene after the crash, according to police. No citations were issued  in relation to the crash as of 8:30 a.m.

The police Major Accidents Investigation Unit was dispatched to the scene.
