Since 2012, unpredictable Uranus and deadly Pluto have locked heads six times, triggering power grabs, violence and revolutions. The seventh (and final) clash will be in March this year. The energy of these planets uses surprise and violence to trigger revolution and reforms. This week, however, we deal with minor changes. (Whew.) The Sun enters Aquarius on Tuesday, the same day as the New Moon. And the following day, Wednesday, Mercury goes retrograde until February 11. This poses an interesting challenge because Aquarius initiates modern, futuristic energy, whereas Mercury retrograde wants to stall everything to return to the past. Who will win? Mercury retrograde will trump the Sun. Friends from the past will be back in the picture; and hopefully, they owe you money.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

This coming month is popular for you! This will happen for many reasons; one of them will be that old friends will be popping up on the horizon once again. Expect to be more involved with younger, as well as artistic, creative types. The next few weeks are the ideal time to talk to others about your hopes and dreams for the future because their feedback will help you. Meanwhile, opportunities for vacations, romance, fun, pleasure, the arts, sports and playful times with children continue to flourish. Some of you are involved in secret love affairs, as well. Taurus (April 20-May 20)

For the next 4 to 6 weeks, the Sun is at the top of your chart. This is the only time all year this occurs. This is favorable for you because the Sun is like powerful spotlight on you, and this light is flattering! This means others see you as capable, competent and talented, which is why you will be approached by people to take on increased responsibilities. Just say yes because, remember — the light is magical. You will look wonderful and meet the expectations of others. Gemini (May 21-June 20)

You will be thrilled to hear from friends from other countries or different cultures. Whatever happens will broaden your horizons either through travel, further education or a chance to enjoy adventure and new experiences. Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Your month ahead will be intense and passionate. In fact, you will feel passionate about everything! Romance will be sizzling for a number of reasons. This person could be a “person of interest” or they might trigger jealousy on the part of someone else — either way, this will heat things up! This is the only time all year this occurs, and because the Sun is now as far away from you as it gets all year, and the Sun is your source of energy — naturally, your energy will be lower and you will need more rest and sleep. Factoid. In addition, your focus on partnerships will be much stronger. Many of you will be back in touch with old partners and past situations because Mercury retrograde is taking place opposite your sign. Disputes about shared property are likely. Fortunately, fair Venus will sweeten relationships and calm conflicts.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Roll up your sleeves because in the month ahead, you are busy! Primarily, this is because you want to get better organized. Act on this motivation. Make the most of it. Give yourself the right tools so that you can do a bang-up job. Your desire to get better organized applies to both work and home — yes, you want it all. In fact, you will want to boost your health as well through better diet, increased exercise and exploring new ideas that promote a stronger, more flexible body. Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Strap on your roller-skates for a busy month ahead! Short trips, increased errands, conversations with everyone (especially siblings and relatives) plus increased reading and writing will give you a jam-packed schedule. This is why the pace of your days will accelerate. Accept this and go with the flow. The only snag is retrograde Mercury is along for the ride causing confused communications, transportation delays, lost paperwork, broken equipment and lots of silly, goofy mistakes. On top of this, your situation at home is chaotic and busy, because of residential moves, renovations or visiting guests. Take a deep breath and stay focused. (“I child-proofed the house, but the kids keep getting in!”)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

As the Sun shifts signs this week, it increases your focus on money, cash flow, possessions, earnings and assets. In the next several weeks, you will think how to boost your earnings or make a little money on the side. In the bigger picture, you want to feel you’re on top of what you own, and that you are making your possessions work for you and not vice versa. (Isn’t that how it’s supposed to be?) However, Mercury retrograde will create late checks in the mail, delays and confusion about financial matters and possibly, a dispute about the ownership of your own possessions. (Like what’s with that?) At a subtle level, you are wondering who and what to put on the Ark, and who or what should stay behind.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

The Sun, retrograde Mercury and Venus are all in your sign. Naturally, the Sun will energize you by giving you the opportunity to recharge your batteries for the rest of the year. Venus will make you charming and diplomatic. Venus will also enhance your ability to buy attractive wardrobe goodies. (Trust me; this works. Try to do this in the next few weeks.) Retrograde Mercury will attract people from your past, especially old partners, back into your world; but Mercury will also cause lots of silly, goofy mistakes and make you forget things, misplace things and show up at the wrong time or miss meetings with others. Be alert so you can do some damage control. (The world needs more lerts.)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Because your birthday is a month away, this means your personal year is coming to an end. This also means that the coming month is the perfect time to contemplate what you want your new year to be all about. If you have defined goals, especially with deadlines, your chances of accomplishing these goals are much better. Think about where you want to be five years from now, two years from now, one year from now. What do you have to start to do in the coming year, to go in that direction?
