Suspects questioned after man found shot to death in Auburn Gresham

More than one person was being questioned by investigators after a man was found shot to death in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side Saturday night.

Officers responding to a call of a shots fired about 6:50 p.m. in the 9600 block of South Green found 18-year-old Bernard Pippen lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the neck, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Pippen, of the 11000 block of South State, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:10 p.m., authorities said.

Police said “persons of interest” were being questioned in connection with the shooting.
