Strong-arm robberies reported in Uptown

Police are warning residents about a pair of strong-arm robberies reported five minutes apart early Wednesday in the Uptown neighborhood on the North Side.

The robberies occurred Jan. 21 in the 4500 block of North Sheridan at 2:10 a.m. and in the 4400 block of North Sheridan at 2:15 a.m., according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The victims were approached by two men who yelled gang slogans, hit them and took their property, police said.

One of the suspects is described as a white man between 20 and 30 years old, police said.

The other suspect is described as a black or Hispanic man between 20 and 30 years old, standing about 5-foot-10 and weighing 150 to 180 pounds, police said.
