Two men were killed and a boy injured in a South Side shooting Tuesday afternoon.

About 3:20 p.m., the three were standing outside in the 2200 block of East 79th Street when another male walked up and opened fire, police said.

Joe Bennett, 19, of the 8000 block of South Chappel, was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

The 14-year-old boy was shot in both legs and taken to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, where his condition had stabilized, police said.
