(OAK LAWN) A 19-year-old woman was fatally struck by a car Wednesday afternoon in southwest suburban Oak Lawn.

The accident happened at 1:33 p.m. as the victim was crossing Cicero Avenue, about 10 feet north of the crosswalk at 110th Street, according to Oak Lawn police.

That’s when she was struck by a 2005 Cadillac that was northbound on Cicero, a statement from police said.

Anna M. Kreja of the 11000 block of South Keating Avenue in Oak Lawn was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she died at 2:25 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Police located another vehicle thought to be involved in the crash, a dark blue Ford Explorer, and determined that the SUV and the driver were not involved.

The 53-year-old woman driving the Cadillac was not cited, though the investigation is ongoing, police said. Anyone with information should call police at (708) 499-7789.

Northbound Cicero Avenue was closed for about three hours after the crash.
