Man shot in Belmont Cragin

A man was shot Saturday night in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The 23-year-old was walking in the 5700 block of West Fullerton at 10:25 p.m. when another male walked up and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the back and left shoulder and was taken to Community First Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

A police source said the man is a documented gang member.
