Man walks into Near West Side hospital with gunshot wounds

A man who was shot during a South Austin attempted robbery walked into a Near West Side hospital Tuesday evening.

The 26-year-old walked into Rush University Medical Center with gunshot wounds to his chest and arm about 6:15 p.m., police said. He was later transferred to Stroger Hospital, and his condition was stabilized.

He was shot during a robbery attempt in the 200 block of North Laramie, according to police.
