Man found shot to death in West Pullman

A man was found shot to death in a car Wednesday night in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side.

James Mitchell, 38, was found shot in the driver’s seat of a car about 10 p.m. after the car crashed into the side of a building in the 100 block of East 127th Street, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Mitchell, of the 8400 block of South Maryland Avenue, had a gunshot wound to the upper back and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
