California woman charged with stalking Gary family

A California woman has been charged with stalking and harassing a northwest Indiana family for the past two months.

Judith R. Hairston was charged with five felony counts of stalking, according to a statement from the Gary, Ind., police department.

Hairston has made several false calls to the Gary police department about a family in the 4700 block of Monroe Street in Gary since September, police said. She was arrested after taking a bus from California to Gary to confront a female member of the family.
