A man was being questioned by detectives Tuesday night in connection with the murder of 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee, sources said.

The man — a convicted felon — was arrested by Chicago Police at a hotel in southwest suburban Oak Lawn Tuesday for allegedly possessing two guns, sources told the Sun-Times.

He is the same man who turned himself in to investigators, accompanied by his attorney Sam Adam Jr., earlier this month. He was previously released without being charged.

“While we can’t comment on the specifics of the investigation, we are relentless in our pursuit of justice for Tyshawn,” said Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesman for the Chicago Police Department.

“CPD will continue to use every legal resource to build the strongest prosecution possible and hold Tyshawn’s killers accountable to answer for their barbaric crimes against this innocent child,”he said.

The fourth-grade boy was shot several times after he was lured into the alley in the 8000 block of South Damen about 4:15 p.m. on Nov. 2.Police said the slaying was gang retaliation against the boy’s father.

Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy called the shooting“probably the most abhorrent, cowardly, unfathomable crime that I’ve witnessed in 35 years of policing.”

Police have executed several search warrants in their investigation of the boy’s murder, including one at the home of Tyshawn’s father, Pierre Stokes. Stokes has repeatedly denied involvement in a violent gang conflict that police say prompted Tyshawn’s murder.

At the boy’s funeral last week, St. Sabina pastor Rev. MichaelPfleger said Tyshawn was “a victim of a society that has lost its conscience.” He added, “We’ve lost our conscience, Chicago.”

Pfleger implored the community to muster up courage and turn in gunmen who terrorize the community.

“We must, Chicago, find the killer of Tyshawn,” he said.
