Man wanted for questioning in weekend homicide in Gary

Police in Gary, Ind., are asking the public’s help in finding a man wanted for questioning in a Gary homicide last weekend.

Louis Leroy Watson, 23, is wanted for questioning in the shooting death of 52-year-old Sherman Cole late Saturday, according to the Gary Police Department. Watson, also of Gary, is to be considered armed and dangerous.

Watson was described as a black man standing 5-foot-8 and weighing 150 pounds, police said. He has brown eyes, black hair and has a medium complexion.

Cole was found shot in the head about 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the same block he lived on, authorities said. He was pronounced dead 90 minutes later.

Anyone with information on Watson’s whereabouts is asked to call Gary police at (219) 755-3851.
