An 18-year-old man was shot multiple times Wednesday afternoon in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The shooting happened in the 4600 block of West Madison just before 1 p.m., according to Chicago Police.

The 18-year-old victim was shot in the leg and back, and was taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.

A police source said the victim is a documented gang member.
