A Wisconsin man was arrested Wednesday and has been charged with robbing a Fifth Third Bank branch last week in north suburban Waukegan.

Dale L. Smith, 48, of the 1800 block of 52nd Street in Kenosha, Wisconsin, was charged with one count each of financial institution robbery, robbery, burglary, and theft, according to a statement from Waukegan police.

At 11:33 a.m. Nov. 12, a man robbed the bank at 702 N. Green Bay Rd. in Waukegan, according to the FBI.

The robber did not show a weapon and no one was injured, the FBI said. He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police.

Smith was arrested Wednesday by the Waukegan police Criminal Investigation Division and the Kenosha police. He was ordered held at the Kenosha County Jail on a $500,000 arrest warrant from Lake County, Illinois.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
