Authorities have launched a homicide investigation after a 23-year-old woman died following a domestic disturbance at a Chicago Lawn neighborhood apartment Friday afternoon on the South Side.
Shortly after noon, officers were called to the building in the 6300 block of South Fairfield, where they found Quina L. Jackson unresponsive on a couch, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Jackson, who lived on the block where she was found, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she was pronounced dead at 1:51 p.m., authorities said.
Police did not say how she died. Final autopsy results are pending further investigation, the medical examiner’s office announced Saturday.
A 34-year-old woman was taken into custody at the scene and charges were pending Saturday afternoon, police said.
