Man killed in Chicago Lawn drive-by identified

A man killed in a drive-by shooting Saturday night in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side has been identified.

Lamar Battle, 27, was outside in the 6200 block of South Rockwell Street about 8:30 a.m. when a small gray car drove by and someone inside fired shots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. The car took off southbound after the shooting.

Battle, who lived on the same block, was shot multiple times in the head and neck, and was dead at the scene, authorities said.
