Two men have been charged with robbing two cab drivers at gunpoint earlier this month in north suburban Skokie.

Filbert Elonge, 21, and 19-year-old Dennis Elonge were each charged with two felony counts of armed robbery, according to a statement from Skokie police. Filbert Elonge was also charged with a felony count of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, two misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and a misdemeanor count of criminal trespass to a residence.

The pair robbed a cab driver at 3:51 a.m. Nov. 15 near Lavergne Avenue and Greenwood Street, police said. They robbed another cab driver later that day at 5:25 p.m. near Lavergne and Suffield Court.

In both cases, cash and a cellphone or tablet were stolen from the drivers, police said.

Bond for Filbert Elonge was set at $150,000, while Dennis Elonge’s bond was set at $100,000, police said. They were both expected to appear in court again Dec. 8.
