A man was shot while walking in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side early Saturday.

About 12:45 a.m., the 20-year-old old was walking in the 1200 block of North Central when someone in a passing black SUV shot him in the left buttock, police said.

A family member drove the man to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, but his condition was not known early Saturday, police said.
