Police have issued a community alert after a string of burglaries only blocks apart on the South Side.
There have been four burglaries since Oct. 23 involving a similarly described suspect, the alert said.
In each incident, the suspect broke into a home and stole property or threatened occupants.
The first two burglaries both occurred in the 8800 block of South Aberdeen in Auburn Gresham. The first happened between 8-11 a.m. Oct. 23 and the second about 12:30 a.m. Oct. 25.
The next burglary happened at 11:55 p.m. on Oct. 28 in the 8800 block of South Throop. The most recent occurred about 2 a.m. Monday a few blocks south in the 1100 block of West 90th Street in Washington Heights.
The suspect is described as a black man 25-30, 5-foot-6 to 6-foot-2 and 150 pounds with short black hair and medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie.
