A southwest suburban man was charged Tuesday with multiple counts of child pornography possession.

Homer Wilson Jr., 50, is charged with five counts of possessing child pornography with the intention to disseminate, a Class X felony, as well as 10 counts each of possessing child pornography images and possessing child pornography videos, both Class 2 felonies, according to a statement from the state’s attorney general’s office.

Police arrested Wilson after they found evidence of child pornography in his home in the 400 block of Dancer Lane in Oswego, authorities said.

“Every time an image of a child being sexually assaulted is shared and viewed, it perpetuates the original crime and further scars these young, innocent victims and their families,” Illinois State Attorney General Lisa Madigan said in the statement.

Wilson faces between six and 30 years in state prison for the Class X felonies as well as three to seven years for each count of the Class 2 felonies, authorities said. He is being held in the Kendall County Jail on a $1 million bond.
