A man robbed a Fifth Third Bank branch in northwest suburban Elgin Wednesday afternoon.

The robber entered the bank located at 525 Waverly Drive about 3:40 p.m. and demanded money, according to a statement from Elgin police. He ran away with an undisclosed amount.

The suspect was described as a black man between 25-40 years old, standing 5-foot-8 to 6-foot, with a medium build, according to the FBI. Surveillance footage showed him wearing a black hat and dark clothing.
