S.C. Johnson plans to move 175 jobs to Chicago during the next two years.
The home products maker announced the jobs move along with plans to spend up to $80 million renovate its Racine, Wisconsin, global headquarters.
The company said it hasn’t settled on Chicago office space.
“The move will give SC Johnson the opportunity to infuse the company with an even broader world-class talent base and diversify its business locations,” senior vice president Kelly Semrau said in a prepared statement.
“Racine continues to be an important location for our global company. Yet we operate more than ever in a global competitive environment, and we have to expand our talent pool to nearby Chicago to remain competitive.”
S.C. Johnson employs 13,000 people worldwide and has sales of $10 billion a year. The company’s biggest brands include Drano, Glade, Raid, Windex and Ziploc.
