Left lanes of Bishop Ford Freeway to be closed for weekend in south suburbs

The left lane of the Bishop Ford Freeway will be closed in both directions this weekend for storm sewer repairs in the south suburbs.

The left lane of I-94 will be closed in both directions between Route 83 (Sibley) and U.S. 6 (159th Street) for sewer repairs starting at 11 p.m. Friday, according to IDOT.

All lanes are scheduled to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, IDOT said.

The closures are being conducted on a weather-permitting basis.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time in the area. Construction zone speed limits will be in effect, and motorists are urged to watch for flaggers, workers and construction equipment.
