Northbound CTA Red Line trains will run express between the Sheridan and Howard stops this weekend.

Starting at 10 p.m. Friday and lasting until 4 a.m. Monday, the trains will bypass the 10 stops in between as crews perform track work for the Purple Express improvement project, according to the CTA. Southbound trains won’t be affected.

Howard-bound customers at Wilson, Lawrence, Argyle, Berwyn, Bryn Mawr, Thorndale, Granville, Loyola, Morse or Jarvis stations will need to take a 95th-bound train to Sheridan and then transfer to a Howard-bound train. Anyone who wants to get off at one of the affected stations will have to go to Howard and transfer to a 95th-bound train.

The CTA suggests the #22 Clark, #36 Broadway, #147 Outer Drive Express and #151 Sheridan buses as alternatives, which run parallel to the Red Line.
