Man critically wounded in West Garfield Park drive-by

A 32-year-old man was critically wounded in a West Garfield Park shooting late Friday afternoon.

He was outside about 5:30 p.m. in the 4500 block of West Maypole when someone in a tan van opened fire, striking him in the femur, according to Chicago Police.

The van took off westbound on Maypole, police said.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
