A 17-year-old boy was killed and another man was wounded in a shooting in the South Deering neighborhood on the Far South Side Monday night.

About 7:20 p.m., the teen and 23-year-old man were shot in the 10600 block of South Yates, police said.

The teen was shot in the chest and died on the scene, while the man suffered a graze wound to his head and was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital, police said. His condition was not immediately known.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed the fatality but did not release further details Monday night.
