Sewer and road construction will shut down part of Edgewood Avenue in northwest suburban Wood Dale for about two weeks starting Tuesday morning.

Edgewood will be closed south of Thorndale Avenue for advance work to prepare for the construction of Illinois Route 390 east of I-290, according to a statement from the Illinois Department of Transportation. The closure is expected to last about two weeks.

Posted detour signs will reroute traffic along Lively Boulevard and Central Avenue to access Edgewood from Thorndale, IDOT said.
