Man fatally shot on West Side porch identified

A man was fatally shot Thursday afternoon on a porch in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

Antoine Coney, 21, was on a porch in the 5200 block of West Quincy about 5:30 p.m. when a gray vehicle pulled up, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. A male got out and started shooting.

The shooter then got back in the vehicle and fled eastbound on Quincy, police said.

Coney, who lived in the same block, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was dead at the scene, authorities said.
