A northwest suburban man has been charged with sexually assaulting a child in north suburban Northbrook.

Nelson E. Yabrudez, 44, was arrested Thursday and charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, according to Northbrook police.

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services reported the matter to police on March 12, and Yabrudez, of the 8900 block of Knight Avenue in Des Plaines, was arrested after a month-long investigation, police said.

The assault occurred sometime between 2009 and 2013, according to police.

Yabrudez was ordered held on a $450,000 bond, according to Cook County sheriff’s office records. He is expected to appear in court next on May 7 in Skokie.
