A man was shot Thursday afternoon in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.

The shooting happened in the 7800 block of South Michigan about 2:30 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney said.

The 18-year-old victim was shot in the back and taken in good condition to Stroger Hospital, Sweeney said.
