Two 21-year-olds were killed in a crash with a semi truck early Thursday morning on I-55 in southwest suburban Channahon.

A Buick Regal was northbound on I-55 just north of Bluff Road about 1 a.m. when the car struck the rear of the semi, according to Illinois State Police.

The Buick overturned across the left lane into the center median, ejecting both the driver and passenger, police said. Neither was wearing seatbelts.

The driver, Tyler Fox of Channahon, and the passenger, Darcy Chobar of Shorewood, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Will County coroner’s office, police said.

The driver of the semi was not injured.
