Jimmy Butler again shoots down speculation of Derrick Rose feud on ESPN's First Take

Bulls star Jimmy Butler, fresh off signing his new max contract, appeared live in studio on ESPN’s First Take on Wednesday.

He was asked once again if there was any friction between him and Derrick Rose after the thumping at the hands of the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

“I don’t think it matters,” Butler said. “If we win, this isn’t an issue. But since we lost, its an issue. I think it gives you all something to talk about, to tell you the truth. If we win the championship, nobody is worried about any of that. The only reason it came up is because we lost. I don’t think we have any beef or whatever you want to call it. I think we just want to win. We didn’t win, so now we’re beefing. Now we have a problem with each other, and I don’t think that’s the case.”

Co-host Skip Bayless then asked if there had been any signs from Rose that he was upset with Butler.

“No, I think he’s always been supportive of me being aggressive, especially on offense,” Butler responded. “We all know I’ll be an aggressor on defense. As far as I know, the guy has always been in my corner.”
