Man critically wounded in North Austin drive-by

A man was shot and critically wounded in the North Austin neighborhood Tuesday night.

About 8:40 p.m., the 20-year-old was in the 1700 block of North Melvina when someone in a passing vehicle shot him in the face and back, police said.

He was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood in critical condition, police said.
