Police issue alert after robberies in Chicago Lawn

Police have issued a community alert after two robberies in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The suspect approached victims on the street and demanded their belongings, according to the community alert from Chicago Police.

The robberies happened at 12:25 p.m. on Aug. 26 in the 4100 block of West 60th Street and at 8:44 p.m. on Aug. 31 in the 5800 block of South Keeler Avenue.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 16 and 21 years old, 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-8 with a shag haircut, police said.

Police advise residents to report any suspicious activity.
