View image | gettyimages.comThe University of Notre Dame is known for its academia, ranking as the 16th best university in the country. But the Notre Dame football fans give the university a contradictory impression.

The Fighting Irish football team stands 11th in the college football rankings, but their fans rank lower for their grammar usage.

According to Grammarly, Notre Dame football fans rank 15th among the AP Top-25 teams, averaging 4.37 grammar mistakes per 100 words.

Grammarly used the first 100 comments that contained more than 50 words under each article on SB Nation’s official college football team blogs. Then they divided the total word count of the comments by the total number of mistakes for each college football team to find the average number of mistakes.
