Man shot in back in Gary

A man was shot in in the back in northwest Indiana on Friday morning.

The victim, whose age wasn’t available, called authorities at 10:46 a.m. saying he had been shot in the back near 4th Avenue and Grant Street in Gary, according to Gary police.

He was taken to Methodist Hospital Northlake Campus in Gary, police said. The wound wasn’t thought to be life-threatening.
