Lawndale man killed in Humboldt Park crash

A Lawndale neighborhood man died Thursday afternoon after a crash in Humboldt Park on the West Side.

James Garrett, 25, was in a vehicle that struck multiple fixed objects in the 1100 block of North Keeler, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Garrett, of the 2200 block of South Kolin, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with head and neck injuries, authorities said. He was pronounced dead there at 1:41 p.m.

An autopsy Monday ruled his death an accident.
