An easy storage idea for homemade baby food

OK, so you’re a new parent and you’ve decided to skip commercial baby food and make your own.

And that first batch is ready, and your sweet little one has eaten some.

Now, how do you store the rest?

That was always a dilemma for me long ago when my son was little and beginning to eat solid food. I wanted to feed him the best food I could, but the lack of sleep and my job made the idea of preparing baby food daily not feasible.

But if I made batches and froze the rest, that involved way too many containers for my small apartment freezer.

So when I saw Milkies Food Trays I wished I’d have something like this. Not surprisingly they are a brainchild of moms looking to make their babies’ food, but like I was, they need to to do it with as few hassles as possible.

They remind me of ice cube trays of a sort, except they store the food in longer sections and come with a lid. Each of the sections holds an ounce, a small enough serving size for an infant. The trays come in packs of two. (With the lids then you can stack one atop another and take up minimal frig space.)

Parents will be happy to know they are made with BPA and phthalate-free plastic. And they are reusable, although washing them by hand is recommended.

You can find the packs of two for $21.95 at fairhavenhealth.com. Go here to find out more.
