State child welfare officials are investigating Tuesday’s death of a 1-month-old boy on the South Side.

David Scott died at his home in the 5700 block of South Peoria at 7:50 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

DCFS is investigating the boy’s mother for allegations of neglect, agency spokeswoman Andrew Flach said.

An autopsy Wednesday did not rule on cause and manner of death, with results pending further investigation.
