Man wounded in West Englewood shooting

A man was shot in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side Wednesday night.

About 8:50 p.m., the 38-year-old was on a porch in the 5600 block of South Hamilton when several males got out of a red van and announced a robbery, police said. The males took some of the man’s property and, as they were fleeing, shot him in the thigh.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition and stabilized, police said.
