A woman was shot in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side Tuesday night.

About 8:50 p.m., the 28-year-old was standing on the sidewalk in the 5900 block of West Madison when a group of males standing down the block began to argue among themselves and shots were fired, police said.

The woman was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park with a gunshot wound to the ankle, police said. She was listed in good condition.
