Vehicle burglaries reported in Aurora

Police are investigating a series of vehicle burglaries reported on Thursday in Aurora.

In each of the five incidents, someone smashed in the windows of parked cars in different daycare parking lots and took electronics, credit cards and other visible valuables, according to a statement from Aurora police. The break-ins took place in the DuPage County part of the city.

The burglaries happened between 5:20 and 5:50 p.m. when five mothers parked to go pick up their children, police said. Three of the break-ins happened at Creative World Daycare in the 700 block of Shoreline Drive, one was reported at Kindercare in the 700 block of Long Grove Drive and another occurred at Smart Beginnings Daycare in the 4100 block of Healthway Drive.

The total loss in all five burglaries is $3,300, police said.
