Authorities have identified a man mortally wounded in a shooting Wednesday in Burnside on the city’s South Side as Neal Bratcher , 48.

Bratcher, whose address wasn’t known, was shot by someone who walked up to him as he stood on the sidewalk in the 9200 block of South University and shot him in the chest, face and a leg, authorities said.

He died Thursday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
