Man robs Jefferson Park bank

A man robbed a Jefferson Park neighborhood bank Monday afternoon on the Northwest Side.

Just before 2 p.m., he walked into the Chase Bank branch at 5352 N. Elston Ave. and handed a teller a note demanding cash, according to the FBI.

He didn’t show a weapon and no one was hurt, authorities said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his late 20s or early 30s, 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-7, and 150-170 pounds with a slim build. He was wearing a black hat and checkered shirt, authorities said.

Anyone with information should call the FBI at (312) 421-6700.
