One of two men shot to death in Uptown identified

Two men were shot to death in the Uptown neighborhood early Wednesday on the North Side.

The attack happened at 2:17 a.m. in the 5000 block of North Winthrop, police said.

Robert Anderson, 34, of the 7900 block of South Ridgeland was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:55 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

A 32-year-old man, whose identity had not been released as of Thursday afternoon, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Both men, who had documented gang ties, suffered multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
