A 72-year-old west suburban man was charged after investigators found images of child pornography had been downloaded and disseminated from his computer, according to police.
James Borchering of the 0N700 block of Prince Crossing in West Chicago was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with four counts of possession of child pornography, according to the DuPage County sheriff’s office.
Borchering was arrested after detectives in the sheriff’s S.P.E.E.D. (Sexual Predator Electronic Exploitation Division) Unit conducted an online investigation to trace the downloading of child pornography on the Internet, a statement from the sheriff’s office said.
On Wednesday, a search warrant was executed at his West Chicago address and electronics equipment confiscated, police said. Forensic examination “revealed the presence and distribution of child pornography files,” police said.
Borchering was being held in the DuPage County Jail on a $5,000 bond as of Thursday morning.
